Instruction for Rego printers

Mobile printers are used for all tasks in which your receipt or label must be printed directly on site. Label printing can take place wherever you need it â€“ in warehousing and logistics areas, for patient receiving in hospitals, in laboratories, in shopping stores or in retail. Mobile printers print in direct thermal mode and therefore do not need any printing ribbons. The compact design makes it easy to carry or mount on forklifts or vehicles. Used together with mobile data terminal and/or mobile barcode scanners, we provide a smart mobile solution for improving efficiency in order-picking and sorting application.

Android OS

Our mobile printers are usually used with Android mobile data terminals (mobile phone, tablet, etc) with Bluetooth communication. In this case the printers must be paired with mobile devices with password 1234 or 0000. It is recommended to load and install Rego SDK: REGO_Android_Print SDK (zipped file, 24MB) for demonstration. The SDK supports all Rego printers: MLP58, MTP58, MLP80 and P80. The manual for SDK can be found under the extracted SDK folders.

Windows OS

If a Rego printer is used with Windows devices with USB communication (with OTG function), a driver from Rego is required to install: Windows Driver (zipped file, 3.4 MB)

If a Rego printer is used with Windows devices at Bluetooth mode, the printer must be first paired with devices with the password 1234 or 0000. Then the virtual number of COM port where the printer was assigned must be found out. This can be done by looking into the list of device manager under Windows. Please note that two COM numbers can be seen which are for writing data to and receiving data from the printer, respectively. It is recommended to load ans install COM port testing tool (exe file, 478KB) for testing the COM port and printer. Further programming for custom-made label printing require writing to COM serial port with protocol (9600, 8, none, 1, none). The standard languages are ESC/POS (MLP58, MTP58, MLP80 and P80) or CPCL(MLP80). It is also recommended to load and install Windows SDK (zipped file, 15.6MB). The SDK supports all Rego printers. The manual for SDK can be found under the extracted SDK folders.
